For Owners
Sam is available to help owners in the Bristol & North Somerset area with both routine and advanced dentistry procedures. Proper dental care is essential for the overall wellbeing of your horse. Dental issues can lead to discomfort, poor digestion and performance problems. Regular routine dental care aims to prevent and address any issues as they arise, promoting better oral health for your horse. Many oral procedures can only be legitimately conducted by veterinary surgeons. As a vet with additional qualifications in equine dentistry, Sam is able to use sedation when it enables a more thorough examination of your horse’s mouth, as well as removing any teeth, widening gaps between teeth and restoring teeth with fillings when required.
The majority of advanced treatment can be done on your yard. Where further investigation is required or if treatment is best offered in a clinic setting, our clinic at Copper Beech Farm provides a quiet, stress-free environment. Horses outside of our area can also be brought to the clinic for diagnostic investigations and treatment. We have a strong working relationship with equine dentists and vet practices and can liaise directly with them to facilitate a referral for your horse.
Sam is also available for elective euthanasias. We recognise that Sam has a close relationship with many owners in the area. Should you feel that the time is near to say goodbye to your companion, please get in touch and we can arrange for Sam to visit at a time that is right for you.
